I’m a young veterinarian who graduated in the summer of 2011 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, Romania, currently looking for the opportunity of a job in an equine clinic.
From the beginning of my studies I got connected with the equine medicine and as a student, I managed to attend a summer practice in the USA in a private equine clinic, with Dr. Martin Langhofer (“Western Veterinary Clinic”) and to visit several equine clinics across the state of Arizona. I did my internship in Hungary at the Pannon Lógyógyászati és Rehabilitációs Szolgálat (Hungarian Equine Rehabilitation and Healthcare Service) for 1 year (October 1st 2011-October 1st 2012)
During this internship I did mainly field practice but I also took active part in several surgeries, from which I can mention the following: castrations, tie-back procedures, laser surgeries for laryngeal hemiplegia, arthroscopy, colic surgery, teeth extractions, tenotomies.
Mentioning part of the skills I acquired during the practical stage, I will point out the lameness examination (flexion tests, nerve blocks, joint blocks), small surgery - wound closure, abscess opening; first aid in colic cases, X-rays and ultrasound examination.
My main interests are surgery and sports medicine.
I'm also interested in a job as a horse rider, having more than 10 years experience in this field. Being a horse rider and an equine veterinarian in the same time, helped me to develop myself in both directions, being able to apply the knowledge of one field on the other one with better results!
Thank you very much and I am looking forward to getting news from you!
